Solmization & Counterpoint
at
Santorini Masterclasses.

ASON MARMARAS will be giving crash-course in historical solfège and intensive workshop in improvised counterpoint, as part of Santorini Masterclasses organized by his colleague and friend, Christos Marantos.
The Solmization & Counterpoint masterclass will take place at the Gyzi Megaron and the Monastery of Dominican Sisters at Thira, on Santorini, between the 14th and 20th of July, 2026.
The course will iclude :
• eight three-hour sessions (twice daily) of Solmization, improvised Counterpoint, and reading mensural music, and
• a presentation concert at the adjoining Gyzi Megaron.
Additionally, the following options will be available upon
request (at additional cost) :
• individual coaching in renaissance or early baroque repertoire by Iason Marmaras, as well as
• advanced ear-training sessions in small group with mdw Senior Lecturer Katharina Blassnigg, are available upon request, at additional cost.

Fee : €570, including six nights’ accommodation (14-20 July)
